Estriol / Progesterone Cream
Usage
Estriol / progesterone cream is a compounded bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (HRT) used to support hormonal balance, particularly in peri- and postmenopausal women. This combination provides estrogen support (estriol) along with progesterone for hormonal balance and endometrial protection.
It may be prescribed for:
• Menopausal and perimenopausal symptoms (e.g., hot flushes, night sweats, mood changes)
• Vaginal atrophy (dryness, irritation, discomfort)
• Hormone deficiency states
• Sleep disturbances and mood symptoms
• Other practitioner-directed uses in individualised HRT programmes
Dosage
Dosage should be individualised and prescribed by a qualified healthcare professional based on symptoms and clinical response.
Typical dosing considerations include:
• Apply a measured amount once daily, or as directed
• Apply to clean, dry skin (e.g., inner arms, thighs, or other recommended sites)
• Rotate application sites to reduce skin irritation
• Use the lowest effective dose
• Wash hands after application
Regular clinical review and dose adjustment are recommended.
Mechanisms of Action
Estriol (Estrogen)
• Binds to estrogen receptors, helping restore hormonal balance
• Improves urogenital tissue health, including vaginal lubrication and elasticity
• May help relieve mild menopausal symptoms
Progesterone
• Balances estrogen effects and provides protection of the endometrium
• Helps regulate hormonal effects on the uterus
• May support sleep and mood stability
Together, these hormones help maintain a more physiological hormonal environment.

This formulation should not be used in patients with:
• Hypersensitivity to estriol, progesterone, or any component of the formulation
• Known or suspected hormone-dependent cancers (e.g., breast or endometrial cancer)
• Undiagnosed abnormal vaginal bleeding

Precautions
